Quick answer

Last updated

How do I remove a watermark from a video?

Upload the video (or paste a Bilibili link), mark the corner where the watermark sits or draw a box around it, choose Soft repair, Blur or Pixelate, and press Remove watermark. The video is edited inside your browser and saved as an MP4. It’s free, never uploaded, and works on videos up to 5 minutes.

Procedure

How to remove a watermark from a video

Three steps in your browser. The first export downloads the video editor; after that it starts straight away.

  1. Step 1: Load the video

Switch to Upload a file and drop in a video from your device, or paste a Bilibili link and press Load video. Videos up to 5 minutes and 100 MB work.

  2. Step 2: Mark the watermark

Pick the corner the logo is in and a box size, or draw your own box over it. Pause on a frame where the watermark shows; the shaded box is exactly what gets covered.

  3. Step 3: Export and download

Choose Soft repair, Blur or Pixelate and press Remove watermark. The first run downloads the 32 MB video editor; after that it starts at once. Then save the MP4.

Methods

Repair, blur or pixelate

No tool can restore what a logo covered; those pixels were never in the file. Each method hides the mark in a different way, so pick the one that suits the background behind it.

FAQ

Questions people ask

About how well it works, the three methods, limits, phones and when removing a watermark is allowed.

Is this video watermark remover free, and is my video uploaded?

It’s free with no sign-up and no watermark of its own. Your video is never uploaded: the editing runs inside your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. With a Bilibili link, the video comes straight from Bilibili to your browser.

Does it remove the watermark perfectly?

It covers it; it can’t recover what was underneath, because those pixels were never in the file. Soft repair blends in the surrounding pixels and is hard to spot on plain backgrounds. On busy scenes, Blur usually looks cleaner.

Which method should I use: Soft repair, Blur or Pixelate?

Start with Soft repair for logos on plain or slow-moving backgrounds. Use Blur when the background is busy or the mark is large text. Pixelate is for when you want it obvious something was hidden. Preview, export, and compare.

Why do downloaded Bilibili videos have a watermark?

Bilibili lets uploaders stamp the bilibili logo and their name on their videos, usually in the top-right corner. The mark is burned into the picture of every quality, so no downloader can skip it. Re-uploaded clips may also carry the mark of the app they came from, such as Douyin or TikTok. Either way, it has to be covered.

What are the limits?

Videos up to 5 minutes and 100 MB, up to 4K input. The edited file is saved at up to 1280 × 720 (720 × 1280 for vertical video) and 30 fps, so long edits stay fast in a browser. The sound is kept as it is when it’s AAC.

Why is the edited video larger than the original?

Removing a watermark means re-encoding every frame, and a browser encoder has to trade compression for speed. Choose Smaller file to spend more time on compression; it is often several times smaller than Fast export.

Can I remove TikTok, Douyin or other watermarks?

Yes. Switch to Upload a file and use any video you have the rights to edit. The tool doesn’t care where the video came from; it covers whatever is inside the box you mark.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in up-to-date Safari and Chrome, but phones are slower and have less memory, so keep videos short. Desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox use several CPU cores and finish much faster.

Is it legal to remove a watermark from a video?

Only on videos you own or have permission to edit. A watermark often identifies the creator, and removing it to repost someone else’s work can break copyright law (in the US, section 1202 of the DMCA covers removing copyright information) and Bilibili’s rules.

Troubleshooting

If the editor struggles

The editor won’t load
The editor is a 32 MB file from the jsDelivr CDN. An ad blocker, a strict firewall or an old browser can stop it. Allow cdn.jsdelivr.net, update your browser, and try again on Wi-Fi.
The box doesn’t cover the logo
Pause the preview on a frame where the watermark is clearly visible, then try Wide, or press “Draw my own box” and drag over it. Watermarks that move around the frame can’t be covered with one box.
The export stops or the tab crashes
Browsers limit memory, especially on phones. Close other tabs, choose Fast export, and use a shorter or lower-resolution video. A desktop browser with several CPU cores is much faster.

Your videos, your call

This tool works on your own device: the video never reaches our server. With a Bilibili link, the video comes straight from Bilibili to your browser, and only public uploads load.

Use it on videos you made, footage you licensed, or clips you have permission to edit, for example to clean up your own upload or remove an old logo. Removing someone else’s watermark to pass their video off as yours isn’t fair use and breaks most platforms’ rules, including Bilibili’s terms.
