How many songs can you download from Suno?
Since 3 September 2026, a free Suno account gets up to 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal use, Pro gets 20 downloads a month and Premier gets 60. Unused downloads do not roll over. Re-downloading a song, or taking it in several formats, counts once. Streaming and sharing songs on Suno stay unlimited.
Suno used to let you download as many songs as you liked. That changed on 3 September 2026, when Suno put a cap on downloads for every plan. Making songs, streaming them and sharing links on Suno are not affected.
Suno download limits by plan
| Plan | Downloads | Resets | Use of downloaded songs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 7, lifetime trial | Never | Personal, non-commercial only |
| Pro | 20 a month | Each billing month | Personal and commercial |
| Premier | 60 a month | Each billing month | Personal and commercial |
| Suno Studio | Not affected by the caps | Per your plan |

What counts as a download
- One song, one download. Taking the MP3, the WAV and the video of the same song still counts once.
- Stems ride along. Stems for a song come with that song’s download.
- Re-downloads are free. Downloading a song you already downloaded does not use another one.
- Failures are free. A failed or interrupted download is not counted.
- Old songs count too. The limit applies to songs made before 3 September 2026 as well.
What does not count
Playing songs on Suno and sharing their links do not use downloads. Your library stays where it is; nothing was deleted.
How to make your downloads go further
- Download only what you will release. Spend your monthly downloads on the songs you will publish, and take every format you need (WAV, MP3, stems) in that one download.
- Listen without downloading. For songs you just want on your phone, use Suno’s own player, or save the public copy with the free Suno song downloader. It does not sign in to Suno, so it never touches your allowance.
- Keep your own archive. Put the files you download into a folder or cloud drive straight away, so you never need to spend a download on the same song from another device.
Trial downloads versus a link-based downloader
The two are not the same thing, and it matters if you plan to use the song:
| Suno download | Link-based downloader | |
|---|---|---|
| Formats | MP3, WAV, video, stems | MP3 (192 kbps), MP4, cover art, lyrics |
| Works on | Your own songs | Any public song |
| Uses your allowance | Yes | No |
| Gives commercial rights | On Pro and Premier | Never |
If you want to put a song on Spotify, in a monetised video or in client work, download it from Suno on a paid plan. The rules are covered in can you use Suno songs commercially?.
FAQ
Questions people ask
When did Suno start limiting downloads?
The caps apply to every download from 3 September 2026, including songs you made before that date. Your existing songs are not deleted and still play and share on Suno.
Does downloading MP3 and WAV of the same song count twice?
No. Suno counts a song once, whatever formats you take. Stems for that song come with the same download, and re-downloading a song you already downloaded is free.
Do failed downloads count against the limit?
No. Suno’s help centre says failed or interrupted downloads are not counted.
Do unused Suno downloads roll over?
No. Pro and Premier allowances reset each billing month and unused downloads expire.
Can I buy more Suno downloads?
Suno says extra downloads can be bought once you reach your plan’s limit. Check the billing page in your Suno account for the current price.
Does Suno Studio have a download limit?
Suno says the new caps do not affect Suno Studio workflows.
Does a third-party Suno downloader use my Suno downloads?
A link-based downloader like the Xtools one never signs in to your Suno account, so it does not touch your allowance. It saves the public streaming copy for listening. It can make an MP3, M4A or WAV from that copy, but not the studio WAV master, stems or any commercial rights.
Try the Suno Song Downloader
Paste a Suno share link to download the song as MP3, M4A (original quality) or WAV, made in your browser, or as the MP4 video, plus full-size cover art and lyrics. Free, no sign-up, works on phone and desktop.
